The political development in Pakistan during PML-N’s government from 2013 to 2018 has been examined in this study, focusing on how to rebuild the complex course of democracy after years of military rule and political instability. The main objective of this paper is to examine the democratic transition in Pakistan and to investigate the challenges related to political stability, governance issues, civil military relations and political reconciliation. During PML-N government five constitutional amendments were incorporated. The aim of this study is to analyze the change that took place in the political scenario of Pakistan between 2013 to 2018. Both primary as well as secondary data have been analyzed through thematic analysis. It adopts a Case Study Research Design coupled with relativist ontological and subjectivist epistemological positions The key findings suggest that although, between 2013 to 2018 Pakistan made improvement in electoral continuity, yet political confrontation, weak governance, limited political consensus and weak institutions continued to hinder democratic consolidation in Pakistan.
