Correction Policy

The Review of Crime, Peace and Society (RCPS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. Authors are therefore expected to ensure that their manuscripts are carefully prepared, reviewed, and finalized before submission and again at the proof stage prior to publication..

RCPS provides authors with an opportunity to review proofs before the final online publication of their article in order to correct typographical, formatting, and minor factual errors. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the published version of the manuscript is as accurate and error-free as possible.

Pre-Publication Corrections

Minor editorial, typographical, formatting, and proofreading corrections identified during the copyediting and proof stage may be made by the journal without any additional charge. However, if an author requests substantive corrections, revisions, additions, deletions, or formatting changes after acceptance or during the proof stage, the journal may charge a Correction Processing Fee of USD 25 to cover the additional editorial, typesetting, and administrative work involved.

Post-Publication Corrections

If an error is identified after publication that affects the accuracy, clarity, citation information, or integrity of the published article, RCPS may issue an appropriate correction in the form of a corrigendum, erratum, or editorial note, depending on the nature and seriousness of the error.

Where a post-publication correction is requested by the author(s) and requires substantial editorial or technical revision of the published article, the journal reserves the right to charge a Correction Processing Fee of USD 25.

Editorial Corrections and Ethical Concerns

RCPS takes seriously all matters relating to publication ethics, plagiarism, copyright infringement, data misrepresentation, and other forms of academic misconduct. Where any such issue is identified before or after publication, the Editorial Board reserves the right to take appropriate corrective action in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies and accepted publication ethics standards. Such action may include correction, clarification, withdrawal, retraction, or other necessary measures to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Final Decision

The decision regarding whether a requested amendment constitutes a minor correction, a major correction, or a post-publication correction requiring formal editorial action shall rest with the Editorial Board of RCPS.
