Education Brings Women Autonomy and Decision-Making Power: A Qualitative Study of Karachi City

Abstract

The research study explores how a lack of involvement in decision-making influences women's capabilities. Secondly, which factors affect women’s ability to participate in the household decision-making process? The nature of the research study is the qualitative or interpretive research design. The study population was Karachi city, Sindh, Pakistan. A purposive sampling technique was used. The sample size was drawn based on the data situation point and it was (N=15). The result revealed that urban women lack involvement in the decision-making process. In conclusion, gender equity has not existed in the hegemonic masculine society. Education and a more peaceful home environment can contribute to women's decision-making and autonomy.
