Water Consumption Practices at Household Level in Slums of Gujranwala City: A Gender Bases Inquiry

The study investigated the water consumption practices in households
in slum areas between genders. Quantitative research was applied, and
a multi-stage simple random sampling technique was used. Gender is a
key predictor, as gender differences exist in opinions on water
conservation activities. The study results revealed that educational
factors impacted water conservation practices. The findings also found
that to inform gender-sensitive policies and programs for promoting
sustainable water practices in urban slum communities in Pakistan.
Water conservation is a crucial aspect of sustainable resource
management, aiming to minimize water wastage, ensure efficient use,
and preserve this finite resource for future generations. The study
recommended that water conservation practices, through the lens of
gender perspective, in Pakistani slum areas should focus on
governmental projects.
